Style: SLAP! SLAP! -- “I challenge you to a duel’…

sermoneta gloves

Dueling is quite the only thing I can think of to do with gloves in the spring time. Because let’s face it-- no one wants to even thing about anything winter-like, when it is above 50 degrees. Most of the time I am trying to get away with flip-flops, not reverting back to flannel, itchy, sweaters and gloves. But if you are in the mood for winter apparel, Sermoneta Gloves, has some bright colors sure to go with the blooming cherry blossoms.

From their Italian craftsmanship to their lonely, yet colorful Madison Ave. shop--you know when you walk through the door you are not buying Kmart. What their collection lacks in fashion forwardness, they make up for in color diversity. With every pantone color is represented, it is a leather glove wonderland—sans the animated chipmunks and the singing dwarfs. I got so giddy with the selection that I almost bought a pair, but then the spring breeze and abundance of sunlight, brought me back to my senses.

For more information you can visit their website at www.sermonetagloves.com or if you want to slap someone soon you can buy a pair of dueling gloves at their store located at 609-611 Madison Ave. NYC.

Décor: Art that sticks to your walls…

Pop Cling

I think it was ingenious for Pop Cling to give graphic artists another way to make money. With the economy slowing down, the job market for designers isn’t what it use to be. Rather than flipping burgers, tacos or any other heart attack provoking victuals – designers now can stick there art on anything from walls to sporting goods. I normally shake my head to sticking anything on your wall, but there are some cases were it isn’t so bad -- in an appropriate showroom or in a child’s room. Anywhere else and you run the risk of your decor looking like a dorm room—ala black light and opiates.

Pop Cling

Though the artwork found at Pop Cling can’t take the place of a Picasso (but not much does)-- I do believe if you stick them around a child’s room they will keep your little one’s attention for hours. Decals start at $55.00 and can be bought at www.popcling.com.
